Circulation Policy

The circulation section is the gateway between users and documents so it plays a major role in any Library and Information System. Our Circulation Section performs the issue, renewal, and return of books using Koha software. Apart from these basic tasks, many other jobs like membership registration, issuing no-dues certificates, interlibrary loan, overdue fine collection, book reservation, various e-mail alert generation, etc., and all kinds of queries by the users are being performed by this section.

  • General books are issued to all eligible members as per their entitlements.
  • The reader has to check the condition of books while borrowing, in case the books are found damaged, mutilated, or spoiled while returning, the reader has to replace the same with a new book.
  • A book can have a maximum of one renewal.
  • Absence from the college will not be allowed as an excuse for the delay in the return of books.
  • If the due date falls on a holiday for the Library, the next working day will be taken as the due date.
  • Books are renewed if there are no reservations against the book.
  • The borrower will be responsible for any loss or non-return of any books issued against his / her.
  • Loss of library books should be reported to the librarian immediately. The overdue fine will be collected till the book is replaced or returned.
  • Auto email overdue reminders are set up for all the members.
  • If you made any changes in your profile, confirm the same to the circulation counter.
  • Cell Phone to be switched off inside the Library.
  • Strict and absolute silence shall be observed in the Library.
