The Department of MCA recently organized a transformative 5-days workshop for BCA, MCA, and Engineering students, aimed at upskilling their knowledge and providing hands-on experience in cutting-edge topics:
Key Topics Covered:
Web Security concepts including Threats, Attack vectors and defense mechanisms
Hands-on experience with key vulnerabilities such as SQL Injection, Cross-Site Scripting (XSS), Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) and Insecure Deserialization, aligned with the OWASP Top 10.
Use of CTFs in solving cyber security problems. And exploring the Sql map, Zphisher, Broken Access Control.
Basics of Wireshark in analyzing network traffic and applying the same for foot-printing, penetration testing

Outcome of the workshop:
46 students from various departments had participated with full zeal, exploring industry tools and technologies in the field of cyber security.
The workshop helped the participants to gain knowledge on various types of security aspects such as strengthen web application security, enabling them to enhance their development processes and security protocols
Practical Skills: hands-on experience in identifying and mitigating the OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities through practical exercises, equipping them with actionable skills to apply in real-world scenarios.
Participants will learn to apply Wireshark for analyzing network traffic from cyber security perspectives.
