Nanoscience and nanotechnology are the interdisciplinary fields, involving chemistry, physics, materials science, mechanical, electrical, electronics and civil engineering. At the nanoscale, the mechanical, electric, optical and magnetic properties of materials change, allowing the creation of new functional materials. Nanotechnology has a broad range of applications, from mechanical engineering to electronics engineering. Nanoscience and Nanotechnology are the hottest fields of research and advancement of nanotechnology is influencing every field of life.
OBJECTIVES
- The prime objective of the club is to make the students familiar with the emerging concepts of Nanoscience and nanotechnology for engineering applications
- Encourage and support research and entrepreneurship in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology
- Organise events featuring innovations in Nanoscience and engineering
- Nanoclub is to strengthen GIT’s position as the leader in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology in this part of Karnataka.
Nano club will be an interdisciplinary club managed entirely by UG students. Dr. R. M. Kulkarni, Professor, Department of Chemistry and Coordinator Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology will be the faculty Coordinator for nano club.
