EV-COC

We have established the ELECTRIC VEHICLE CENTRE OF COMPETENCE (EV-COC) to serve as a hub for students and researchers to explore various aspects of EV technology. This advanced facility includes comprehensive setups for

  1. Cell Testing

  2. Battery Testing

  3. Cell and Pack Thermal Testing

  4. Motor and Power Electronics Evaluation,

  5. Vehicle Integration Studies

  6. BMS Algorithm Development

It is designed to provide hands-on learning experiences, enabling students to conduct research projects and gain practical experience in EV development.

The EV-COC offers application-ready training that meets industry standards, fostering opportunities for innovation in electric transportation. Students and faculty can deepen their understanding of EV technology through immersive, hands-on exposure to cutting-edge tools and methods. This lab serves as a vital resource for educating future engineers and advancing knowledge in the rapidly evolving field of electric vehicles.

The collaboration between KLS Gogte Institute of Technology and Decibels Lab aims to continuously upgrade the EV lab, enhancing its capabilities to support more advanced research in EV technology. The lab’s agenda focuses on equipping students and faculty with the skills and knowledge required to excel in the EV domain. By providing an environment that simulates real-world industry conditions, the EV-COC prepares its users for the demands of the electric vehicle industry.

Looking ahead, KLS Gogte Institute of Technology and Decibels Lab plans to further develop the EV-COC into a premier research centre for electric vehicle technology. This will include more sophisticated equipment and advanced training programs, creating a hub for innovation and industry-level exposure. The ultimate goal is to create a robust training ground that supports the development of skilled professionals and fosters advancements in EV technology.

  • Understand the Lithium cell level and pack level behaviour for the Traction EV Application.

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the development of a Battery Management System algorithm from scratch using MBD

  • Gain a deeper understanding of Vehicle performance testing, tuning, and energy consumption.

  • Enhance hands-on learning and innovation in EV technology.

  • Develop industry-relevant skills among students and faculty.

  • Facilitate collaborative research and partnerships with industry.
