KLS Gogte Institute of Technology (GIT), Belagavi, in association with Belagavi Book Club, inaugurated its Book Club at the Main Library of the institute. The event commenced at 10:45 AM with an aim to foster and enhance reading habits among students, faculty, and the community.
The inauguration ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Shri. Rajendra Belgaumkar, Chairman, Governing Council, KLS GIT, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the importance of cultivating reading habits beyond textbooks, stating that such initiatives significantly contribute to the intellectual and personal growth of individuals. He highlighted that book clubs play a crucial role in fostering a culture of reading among present and future generations.
Mr. Abhishek Bendigeri, curator of Belagavi Book Club, elaborated on the activities and objectives of the club. He underscored the club’s commitment to promoting reading, writing, and literary engagement within the community.
The event was presided over by Dr. M. S. Patil, Principal, KLS GIT, and Dr. Swetha Goudar, Chairman, Library Advisory Committee. The program commenced with a warm welcome address by Dr. Basavaraj Kumbar, Librarian, GIT. This was followed by an introduction to the Belagavi Book Club by Mr. Abhishek Bendigeri. A significant highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KLS GIT and Belagavi Book Club to facilitate collaborative literary initiatives.
The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr. Pradeep Patil, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries and attendees. The event was skillfully hosted by Mrs. Mamata Parvatikar.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of Dean Admin Shri. Digambar Kulkarni, along with other deans, heads of departments, faculty members, and students, making it a grand and insightful gathering. Belagavi Book Club community coordinators Samarth Lohar and Sahana Belavaniki were also present, further strengthening the club’s mission to create an engaged and thriving literary community.
