The 62 nd Annual NASA convention was hosted by Council of Architecture , New Delhi from 7 th February 2020 to 10th February 2020 at Innovative Film City, Bidadi, Bengaluru. Around 250 Architecture colleges from India and SAARC nations participated in this Convention having more than 4000 delegates.
KLS Gogte Institute of Technology, Department of Architecture students has won First Prize (Citation) for the most coveted The Louis. I. Kahn Trophy (LIK Trophy) competing with more than 40 Architecture colleges across India.
The theme/brief for LIK trophy, 2019-2020 was ‘Architecture of Semi-Sacred’, to relook at the Architecture located between the civic and the sacred. Following the theme 25 students documented Shiroor Muth and Krishnapur Muth of Udupi with a focused understanding and analysis of the importance, influence, scale, layers and types of semi-sacred spaces. The trophy was guided by Prof. Yamuna Jakkannavar-Kadolkar and Prof. Nikita R. Manvi.
Louis. I. Kahn Trophy (LIK Trophy) founded in 1981, a prestigious trophy as a collaboration of UNESCO and National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA) conduct joint activities to increase the awareness of India’s rich, diverse and unprotected historic built environments.
NASA convention conducted events such as Seminars, Workshops, Design Competitions-Trophies, on the spot events and Cultural events.
K.L.S’s G.I.T. Department of Architecture participated in 4 Trophies such as Reuben’s, Louis I Kahn Trophy, G-Sen and Landscape Trophy.
