The GIT
Story.
Karnatak Law Society (KLS), an Educational Society that had pioneered Law education in Belgaum in pre-independence India in 1939 (RL Law College), Commerce education in 1954 (Gogte College of Commerce), a similarly impactful first in the form of Engineering education came to fruition in 1979 when, acceding to the persistent demand over many years by leaders of industry and commerce for an Engineering College in Belgaum, the Government of Karnataka permitted KLS to establish an Engineering College in Belgaum.
Over the past 47 years the philosophy has been simple but consistent. Building a future for an entire generation of students who deserved access to world-class technical education right here, where they lived. Students from across Karnataka and beyond come here year after year, not for the degree alone, but for what comes with it — hands-on learning utilising industry-grade infrastructure. And behind every student stands a 30,000+ strong alumni network spanning every sector, every domain, and every time zone that matters.
